Ceremonial Facilitation for the Womb & Birth Continuum

“Ceremony is essential to humans: It's a circle that we draw around important events to separate the momentous from the ordinary. And ritual is a sort of magical safety harness that guides us from one stage of our lives into the next, making sure we don't stumble or lose ourselves along the way. Ceremony and ritual march us carefully right through the centre of our deepest fears about change.” –Elizabeth Gilbert

I love offering ceremonies to individuals and families. It’s important to me to co create safe spaces together and collaborate around what is most supportive of your process.

  • Birth Story Integration

“For each of us as women, there is a deep place within, where hidden and growing our true spirit rises…Within these deep places, each one holds an incredible reserve of creativity and power, of unexamined and unrecorded emotion and feeling. The woman’s place of power within each of us…it is dark, it is ancient, and it is deep.”
–Audre Lorde

Mother Blessing Ceremony

“Woman is the first environment. In pregnancy our bodies sustain life. At the breast of women, the generations are nourished. From the bodies of women flows the relationship of those generations both to society and the natural world. In this way the earth is our mother, the old people said in this way we as women are earth.” Katsi Cook Mohawk midwife

Gathering in circle to receive the love and support of your sisterhood during this sacred threshold is a deeply meaningful way to prepare for the journey into motherhood and the sacred rite of passage that is birth.

A Mother Blessing offers an essential layer of spiritual and emotional preparation for birth. Whether it is your first baby or your third, this ceremony offers a space to receive blessings, and connect to the wisdom you carry within, as you prepare to walk through this initiation into motherhood.

This ceremony also helps to weave a strong web of support around you, cultivating deeper connections that will carry you through the postpartum period and beyond. It’s a space where the birthing mother is witnessed, honored, nourished, celebrated, and deeply supported.

Together, we’ll move through a series of sacred rituals and activities to celebrate and uplift you in this tender and powerful time.

Each Mother Blessing is lovingly tailored to your unique needs and desires. Before the day arrives, we’ll spend time connecting to envision how it can be most meaningful for you.

Supporting birthing families in this way is one of the most treasured parts of my work.

“Ritual affirms the common patterns, the values, the shared joys, risks, sorrows, and changes that bind a community together. Ritual links together our ancestors and descendants, those who went before with those will come after us.”-Starhawk

“I have been working with Katia throughout my pregnancy to deepen my connection with the practices of Ayurveda and conscious pregnancy. As part of her offering, she facilitated a MOTHER BLESSING Ceremony for me and my baby, which was an incredibly transformative experience.

The ceremony created a deep connection with myself, my baby, and my preparation for birth. Katia took the time to gather the dearest women in my life, creating a sacred space filled with love and support. Every moment of the ceremony was a true treasure: from the beautifully crafted altar to the heartfelt prayers and songs, every element was a profound offering to this special time in life.

It felt like a rite of passage that all women should experience as they approach birth. The ceremony set my mind at ease, allowing me to slow down, relax, and feel truly honored to carry this little soul into the world. I am immensely grateful for Katia's wisdom and knowledge in pregnancy and birth, which have enriched my journey in ways I will cherish forever.”

“Thank you so much for leading and guiding my sisters and I through this intentional Mama Blessing Ceremony. I am still riding the high vibrations from this weekend!  You are a true mama earth angel and I’m so grateful our paths met at this given moment in time. Being surrounded by love and care during my Mama Blessing was truly a gift. From the flower altar you made, to the foot bath, to the red thread ritual, songs, poems and stories that were told, I truly felt nurtured and supported in a way that I want all mamas to feel. That rite of passage is so sacred and you were able to hold space in a way that was truly unique and magical.“

I had the absolutely amazing opportunity to experience the mother blessing facilitated by Katia.  I was so touched by this beautiful experience that I couldn’t hold back the tears! Tears of pure JOY!  I felt truly honored and empowered on my birthing journey through the mother blessing.  10 days later my baby girl was born and her home birth was everything I had hoped for.  I also had the pleasure of a postpartum ayurvedic massages from Katia.  I would highly recommend this to any new mother.  Katia’s massage was incredibly healing. It felt amazing and just what I needed in the postpartum time. Thank you Katia!!!!
